Legionaries of Christ: Building his Kingdom through formation, evangelization and community

Meet the Legionary of Christ priests serving in the Atlanta Archdiocese. The Legionaries of Christ spend a lot of time in education as an expression of their charism to imitate Christ who called the apostles, gathered the disciples, formed them and sent them out to evangelize.

  More than 200 priests came together for the annual convocation of clergy at Lake Lanier for days of prayer, leisure and talks, looking at the opportunities and challenges in the counties of the archdiocese.   

• Father Alex Gaitán, who served at Corpus Christi Church, dies

  Father José Alexander Gaitán Montes, CMF, died Sept. 6, in an accidental drowning in El Salvador. He was 51 years old. Father Gaitán served in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, at Corpus Christi Church, for five years.

  In the ordination ritual, each transitional deacon chose the priest who would help him put on the vestments of a priest for the first time. Asking a priest to serve in this role is a sign of appreciation and gratefulness for their support as a role model.
