Led by Rabbi Slomovitz and Father Lamartine, each session will include a reading of Scripture, followed by thoughtful explanations from both the Jewish and Catholic perspectives. COURAGE AND ENCOURAGE: Courage is a spiritual fellowship group for men and women who experience same-sex attraction. Through discussion, prayer and chaste friendship, Courage members strengthen each other to joyfully live the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. EnCourage provides support for families and friends of people with same-sex attraction and/or gender dysphoria. In many cases, their loved ones identify as LGBT and no longer practice the faith. EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES DISPLAY: With Carlo Acutis, the creator of the Eucharistic Miracles display, being canonized on Sep. 7, this fall would be a great time to bring the display to your parish or school. The exhibit is made available by Mary Our Mother Foundation with panels in English and Spanish. The display has impacted many people, helping to strengthen and confirm people’s faith in our Lord’s real presence in the Eucharist. Special Needs Support Group is a new and growing ministry at the church. Meetings welcome individuals and families who love and care for someone with special needs. The meetings offer information and support to families and parents. Childcare is provided. Meetings are bilingual (English and Spanish) and cover many helpful subjects. Topics have included: after high school care, IEPs, newly diagnosed individuals, school system support, wills and trusts and Mass with special needs little ones. A theme is offered to start the meeting, and the conversation shifts to a question-and-answer session with a professional presenter on the agenda each night. ST. AELRED CHURCH 30-MILE PILGRIMAGE: Nov. 20-22; St. Aelred Church is organizing a three-day, 30-mile pilgrimage to help Catholics of all parishes fulfill Pope Leo’s request to observe the Jubilee Year of Hope 2025. Pilgrims will walk from the city of Penfield to the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sharon. All are welcome to join, but reservations are needed for camp sites. Sign-up is required. Father Gregory Tipton will lead the pilgrims. There will be morning prayer, singing of hymns and reading of Scripture as pilgrims walk.
