  A choir of 20-somethings travels to churches in the Archdiocese of Atlanta to sing in Latin at Mass, a practice that largely disappeared from parishes two generations ago.

  The Marist School boys’ varsity lacrosse team wrapped up its season on April 22 with a 9-5 record. The War Eagles of Marist next takes the field at the Class A-5A Boys State Lacrosse Championship, starting April 28.

  Colorful flower bouquets carpeted the entryway of the Gold Spa. “Stop Asian Hate” signs were carried by some of the more than 100 mourners at the Atlanta spa, one location of a crime spree where a man shot to death eight people. Catholics joined others at a March 21 interfaith service outside the spa.

• Holy Spirit Prep swimmers compete in state championship

  The varsity and middle school swim teams at Holy Spirit Preparatory School, Atlanta, competed in the Jan. 30 Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) State Swimming Championship. When all 36 events were over, the varsity boys and girls teams placed second and fourth overall, respectively.

  Last year was different from all other years. 2020 brought financial problems to many people, businesses and some schools including Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. The school created a 12-month campaign, The Resilience Fund, to help secure students’ dreams.
