Additional 2022 priest assignments announced

ATLANTA–Archbishop Gregory John Hartmayer, OFM Conv., conveys the following official announcements regarding priestly ministry in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Unless noted, all appointments are effective on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Pastors and Special Appointments for Ministry

Father Jose Refugio Oñate Melendez is appointed pastor of St. Joseph Church in Dalton and administrator of St. Toribio Romo Mission in Chatsworth.

Father Paul D. Williams Jr. is granted a sabbatical.

Father Pedro Poloche is appointed pastor of St. Patrick Church in Norcross.

Father Mark Starr is appointed pastor of Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Canton.

Father Carlos Vargas is appointed administrator of St. John Paul II Mission in Gainesville.

Father Bradley Starr is appointed administrator of Good Samaritan Church in Ellijay.

Parochial Vicars

Father Abel Guerrero Orta is appointed parochial vicar of St. Patrick Church in Norcross.

Father Roberto Suarez Barbosa is appointed parochial vicar of Holy Spirit Church in Atlanta, effective July 1.

Father Tuan (John) Pham is appointed parochial vicar of St. Joseph Church in Dalton.

Father Joseph Mullakkara, MSFS, is appointed parochial vicar of Good Shepherd Church in Cumming.
