CUMMING—The St John Bosco Academy Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Tennis teams competed in the GAAPS Regional Tournament in Atlanta on April 18.

Juniors Nate Champagne and Philip Kavanaugh earned second place in tournament play in boys doubles. Sophomore Hudson Brookshire went 3-1 to take third place in boys singles. Seniors Maggie Russell and Margaret Nelson won all their rounds to face off in the championship game, with Maggie winning the final and Margaret taking runner-up. Veronica Kavanaugh won her first two matches to earn a trip to the State Finals.

These athletes will now compete at the state tournament at Berry College in Rome. Both the boys’ and girls’ squads from St. John Bosco scored enough points at regionals to earn a berth at the team state tournament.
