Father Anthony Curran, archdiocesan priest, dies at 84

Father Anthony Thomas “Tony” Curran, who served as a priest of the Archdiocese of Atlanta for 59 years, died June 29. He was 84 years old.

  Lauretta Hannon, a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Rome, is a guest columnist for The Georgia Bulletin and author of two memoirs—her most recent a spiritual memoir.  “A Priest Walks into a Waffle House: Stories from a Gritty, Grace-Filled Life” shares tales from Hannon’s childhood to her discovery of the Catholic faith and beyond.

  First responders brought a St. Joseph Church parishioner Jeanne Menna back to life after a lightning strike in May. She returned to the scene of the strike weeks later to thank them and the Catholic community for prayers and support.
