How to help the Monastery of the Holy Spirit fund drive

By GRETCHEN KEISER, Special to the Bulletin | Published August 5, 2022

CONYERS—The Abbey Church of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, built by the monks in the 1960s, is undergoing a needed renovation and restoration.

Persevering despite the pandemic, the work has already brought newly crafted choir stalls for the Cistercian community and new pews for visitors, while also restoring the beauty of the original elements in the church. New lighting, a sound system and air conditioning of the church are projects underway and the addition of two bathrooms for visitors is necessary and planned.

A fund drive has a goal of $3.4 million. About $800,000 has been raised so far, but the support of the public is needed. Visitors, friends, supporters of the monastery and all in the archdiocese are invited to help with this drive, if possible.
