ATLANTA—The Atlanta Airport hosted the 2016 Airport Volunteer Appreciation Awards Dinner on Monday, April 11, at the Atlanta Marriott Gateway Hotel. Many parishes in the Atlanta Archdiocese were represented as USO volunteers.

Pat and Jack Horvath accepted an award from the USO on behalf of the Corpus Christi Church Seniors. The award reads: “75th Anniversary Award to CC Seniors for your volunteer activities and support to America’s service members and their families 2016.”

In addition, the Horvaths, from the Stone Mountain parish, were presented an award from the USO for being the leading USO volunteers with a combined total of 600 hours. They have been serving with the USO at the airport for 16 years, three days a month on a regular basis. Jack had a 26-year career in the U.S. Army and retired as a lieutenant colonel. They have been married for 53 years and members of Corpus Christi Church since 1980. Fourteen current senior citizens participate as volunteers at the airport.
