ATHENS—Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School had 10 football players selected to the Georgia Independent School Association 2014 All-Region 4-AA team. They are senior quarterback Lee Brackman, junior outside linebacker Alize Brown, senior center Larry Childs, senior wide receiver J.D. Daniels, senior lineman Dylan Dellinger, senior wide receiver Braxton Haley, junior running back Garrison Harris, senior linebacker Vance Holcombe, senior tight end Jeremiah Jordan and junior defensive end A.J. Stokes.

During the 2014 season they helped lead the Monsignor Donovan Rams to an undefeated Region 4-AA championship, a state semifinal appearance and an overall record of 8-3.

Three seniors were also selected as GISA All-State AA performers: Brackman, who tied for the fifth most touchdown passes in the state with 32; Haley, who led the state with 20 receiving touchdowns; and Holcombe, who led a Rams defense that posted three regular season shutouts. The trio plus Daniels were also chosen to play in the GISA East-West All-Star Game at Mercer University, Macon, on Dec. 6.

Head football coach Kurt Page was chosen as the 2014 GISA Coach of the Year for Region 4-AA. In only the second season of a football program at the Athens Catholic school, Page led the team to its first state playoff competition as a semifinalist. Last summer Page was also named the school’s athletic director.
