Knights support North Fulton Community Charities

ALPHARETTA—Knights of Columbus Council 6532, from St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Alpharetta, recently presented Barbara Duffy, executive director of North Fulton Community Charities, with a check for $1,000.

The first principle of the Knights of Columbus is charity. Council 6532 Knights, over 200 members strong, are pleased to support this local community charity, in addition to their efforts within the parish, said Joe Duffy, the council leader.

The money was raised in part from sales of Knights of Columbus state raffle tickets and from fundraising efforts at pancake breakfasts after Mass and Lenten fish fry dinners in the parish.

This charity was selected for its widespread charitable programs and strong support from various faiths, including the chaplain of Council 6532, who serves on the board of this charity along with clergy from other faiths, Duffy said. The council also supports other ministries, including Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, in Atlanta, he said.
