And St. Mary’s Health Care System in Athens has teamed with former UGA defensive lineman David Jacobs for the fourth annual Next Step 5K against stroke on Saturday, May 3, at 9 a.m. at the University of Georgia’s Stegeman Coliseum. A family fun day with food, games and music for all participants follows the walk/run, which begins and ends at the coliseum.

The Next Step 5K raises awareness of the risk of stroke, which Jacobs experienced and now works to combat. Proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s stroke program.

Preregistration is $20 for adults, $15 for students. Stroke survivors are invited to participate at no charge. After April 18, registration is $25.
