Father David McGuinness, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Athens, gave Bishop Luis R. Zarama a bird’s-eye view of the parish’s 46 acres on Epps Bridge Parkway in Athens.

St. Joseph’s, which is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year, relocated its Pre-K through eighth school from the parish’s downtown campus in September.

The parish center, which includes a gym, meeting rooms and offices, opened in December.

The property was formally dedicated with a prayer service and blessing by Bishop Zarama on May 15.
