Catholic High Schools Hold May Graduations

Blessed Trinity High School

ROSWELL—The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta. The graduation of nearly 200 seniors is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 3 p.m. at the school. The valedictorian for the 2008 class is Trent McMullen, son of Todd and Linda McMullen, who are parishioners at St. Ann Church, Marietta. The salutatorian is Monica Hogan, daughter of Alan and Theresa Hogan. The Hogan family belongs to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock.

Holy Spirit Preparatory School

ATLANTA—The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church. The graduation ceremony for the 33 seniors is scheduled to immediately follow the Mass. The valedictorian and salutatorian are to be announced. The graduation speaker is Archbishop-emeritus John F. Donoghue.

Marist School

ATLANTA—Approximately 200 seniors will graduate as part of Marist School’s 2008 class. There will be a Baccalaureate Mass celebrated at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at the school with the graduation scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, on campus. The valedictorian of the 2008 class is Lidia Arias, daughter of Fernando and Jan Arias. The salutatorian is Thomas Ward, son of Mark and Margaret Ward.

Msgr. Walter J. Donovan High School

ATHENS—The ceremony for the second graduating class of 17 is on Saturday, May 17, beginning with a Baccalaureate Mass at 2 p.m. at the school. The graduation ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m., immediately following the Mass. The valedictorian is Andrew Cray, son of Drs. William and Paula Cray, parishioners of St. Joseph Church, Athens. The salutatorian for the 2008 class is Savannah Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Williamson, who attend Winterville United Methodist Church, Athens.

Our Lady of Mercy High School

FAIRBURN—The graduation ceremony for 42 seniors will be held at the school on Friday, May 30, following the Baccalaureate Mass at 6 p.m. The valedictorian for the 2008 class is Andrew Nemchik, son of Thomas and Susan Nemchik of St. Philip Benizi Church, Jonesboro. The salutatorian is Katherine Bischoff, daughter of Gary and Eileen Bischoff, also of St. Philip Benizi Church. The commencement speaker is to be announced.

Pinecrest Academy

CUMMING—The graduation of Pinecrest Academy’s second class of 42 students will be held on Sunday, May 25, with a Baccalaureate Mass at 2 p.m. followed by graduation on the campus. The valedictorian for the Pinecrest Academy boys school is Patrick DiRito, son of Paul and Patti DiRito of Mary Our Queen Church, Norcross. The salutatorian for the boys school is Kenneth Sack, son of Thomas and Lisa Sack of St. Brendan the Navigator Church, Cumming. The valedictorian for the Pinecrest Academy girls school is Maria Guzman, daughter of Juan Carlos and Maria Guzman. The family belongs to St. Benedict Church, Duluth. The salutatorian for the girls school is Lisa DePalma, daughter of Paul and Cheryl DePalma of Good Shepherd Church, Cumming. William Guilfoil, co-founder of Pinecrest Academy, will be the commencement speaker.

St. Pius X High School

ATLANTA—The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta. The graduation ceremony for 256 seniors is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., May 17, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The valedictorian for the 2008 class is Rachel Adele Genrich, daughter of Beverly Lanvere and C.B. Genrich. The salutatorian is Catherine Anne Miller, daughter of Vickie Miller and Andy Miller.
