Marist To Host Retreat For Fathers

Published January 3, 2008

This year the guest speakers will include Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and Father Bob Byrne. Father Byrne has a master’s degree from Catholic University and a bachelor’s degree from Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. Currently based in Michigan, he has taught courses in moral theology at a seminary there and also gives many lectures and seminars. Father Byrne participated in the 2006 retreat and led an inspiring day.

The morning of recollection will begin at Marist School at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 1:30 p.m. The school is inviting past, present and future fathers, as well as grandfathers, to Mass and talks about being a Catholic father. This year’s sessions will include discussions led by Archbishop Gregory and Father Byrne, question and answers, and discussions among the dads. Opportunities for the sacrament of reconciliation will conclude the day.

The event will offer a unique chance for camaraderie with fellow dads and a great time to compare notes on raising kids in today’s challenging times. Breakfast, lunch and drinks will be provided.

Marist School is located at 3790 Ashford Dunwoody Road, NE, Atlanta.
