Father Thomas D. Williams, LC, will present a discussion of John Paul’s “springtime,” on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Holy Spirit Preparatory School. The lecture begins promptly at 7 p.m. in the Commons Building on the Upper School campus located at 4449 Northside Drive near the intersection with Mt. Paran Road.

Father Williams will be discussing Pope John Paul’s “springtime” hopes and how these translate to Catholics in today’s world.

Father Williams is the dean of the theology school at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome and has served as a consultant on Vatican affairs for CBS News. He has also worked extensively for Sky News in Britain covering church and ethical issues. He was a spiritual theological consultant to director Mel Gibson for the making of the film “The Passion of The Christ.” For both NBC and Sky News, Father Williams covered the final illness and death of Pope John Paul II, the 2005 papal conclave, and the election of Pope Benedict XVI. Father Williams has appeared as an analyst on church affairs for CNN, CBS, ABC and Fox News and now serves as a consultant for Vatican affairs for NBC and MSNBC. He is also the author of the book “Spiritual Progress: Becoming the Christian You Want to Be,” which was released in February.
