Rosary Rally Will Offer Prayer For Sisters

Published September 13, 2007

The 36th annual Archdiocesan Rosary Rally will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Archbishop-emeritus John F. Donoghue will be the principal celebrant. This year the Rosary Rally prayers will be offered for the living and deceased women Religious of the archdiocese, in keeping with the theme, “Mary, Mother of Religious Life.”

The program will begin outside the church, weather permitting, with the Serran prayer for vocations and the praying of the rosary. Holy Cross Knights of Columbus will carry the statue during the rosary, which will be followed by a concelebrated Mass inside the church. Fourth-degree Knights will serve as an honor guard. Holy Cross Church will provide the music.

The Rosary Rally committee wishes to bring the archdiocese together in prayer for women Religious, to support them spiritually in all that they do for the church. Anyone who cannot attend is encouraged to join in this prayer intention.

Since Oct. 6 is the first Saturday of the month, the program will include the devotion requested by Our Lady of Fatima, of making first Saturday a Communion of reparation. The program will also include prayer for the success of the consecration of the archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Dec. 12.

All are welcome to attend and offer their prayers, love, and devotion to the Mother of God. Those who cannot attend are invited to join spiritually.
