St. Pius X Athletes Take Skills To College Level

St. Pius X seniors Jennifer Angelich, Tyler Fish, Joseph Flint and Jordan Schultz each accepted scholarships to pursue their education and compete at the collegiate level prior to their May 19 graduation.

Angelich signed a letter of intent to play volleyball next year at Belmont Abbey College, N.C. She is a two-time All DeKalb County and two-time All Area 6AAAA player for St. Pius X. She is expected to play the outside hitter position for Belmont Abbey, which competes in NCAA Division II.

Fish and Flint signed letters of intent to play football with Birmingham Southern College, Birmingham, Ala. Fish played running back and defensive end for the Golden Lions, while Flint played defensive back and wide receiver.

Schultz will also attend Birmingham Southern College. He signed his letter of intent to play basketball. Schultz, recipient of the Most Outstanding Player Award for the 2006-2007 season, led St. Pius X in field goal percentage and was the team’s second leading rebounder in both his junior and senior years.
