The varsity boys of Holy Spirit Preparatory School, Atlanta, pushed their record to 7-1 with a 5-1 victory over Loganville Christian Academy, Loganville, April 24. Senior forward Pat Young led the team with two goals. Other goals were provided by forwards Kali Higgins and Andy Barrenechea and midfielder Henry Faber.

In Cumming, the Pinecrest Academy varsity boys were undefeated through 10 games in their first season of soccer, allowing only three goals, with eight shutouts.

“The Paladins have changed from a group of boys who play soccer together to a team unified by their mutual respect and determination to be the best, on and off the field,” said head coach Bryan Galloway.

On April 30, however, their perfect season ended when Holy Spirit Preparatory avenged their only loss of the season at the hands of the Paladins with a 4-3 win. Georgia Independent School Association playoffs begin for both teams on May 9.
