Archdiocesan Festival Choir’s Spring Program Is ‘Gloria!’

The Archdiocesan Festival Choir will present a concert of sacred music entitled “Gloria!” on Saturday, May 19, at 8 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

The featured work will be Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” to be performed with soloists and chamber orchestra. Also included will be Johannes Brahms’ delightful “Songs Of Mary” (Marienlieder) and “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Fauré.

Now in its fifth season, the Archdiocesan Festival Choir is made up of 70 auditioned singers representing more than 25 parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta. J. Wayne Baughman, music director at St. Benedict Church, Duluth, will conduct the performance.

Tickets are $15 (a suggested donation) and may be obtained from any choir member. Advance ticket information is also available via e-mail at festchoir@yahoo.com or by calling (678) 992-2054. Seating is limited, and early ordering is strongly advised.
