Published March 22, 2007
An archdiocesan workshop titled “Travelers Together: One Creator, One Family, One Journey,” focusing on immigration issues, resources and advocacy, will be held Friday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, Atlanta.
The leaders of the various immigrant communities in the archdiocese from Africa, Asia, Europe and Central and South America are encouraged to attend this workshop. Other interested parishioners are also invited to join.
The program will feature a national Catholic leader dedicated to immigration reform. Chris West, an advocacy organizer for Catholic Relief Services, will lead a resource and advocacy presentation, including an overview of SB 529, practical resources for immigrants, and how to address many of the challenges faced by immigrants in local parishes. The event will not include a legal clinic for individual immigration issues.
The workshop is sponsored by Parish and Social Justice Ministries of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, along with other archdiocesan offices.
Holy Cross Church is located at 3175 Hathaway Court, NE, Atlanta.
