Pinecrest Academy in Cumming extended their consecutive winning streak to four games with a 37-14 win over Monroe Academy and gave the school’s first graduating class a senior night to remember. With a well-balanced offensive attack, Pinecrest sophomore quarterback Michael Metz threw two touchdown passes to Michael Boulanger, and running backs Luis Domenge and Tom Zigtema combined for over 150 yards rushing. Pinecrest led at halftime by a score of 23-0. Freshman defensive tackle Nic Quintana led the defensive unit with seven tackles, three for a loss. Monroe Academy only managed two offensive touchdowns late in the fourth quarter, after many of the Pinecrest freshmen reserves were in the game. Pinecrest has held its opponents to under 15 points in all their victories. This Friday Pinecrest (5-1) will travel to Gainesville for a region game against Westminster Christian School.

Roswell’s Blessed Trinity High School had another bad encounter with a DeKalb County school. This time Dunwoody High School spoiled the Titans’ homecoming by handing them a 30-3 loss. They were defeated by Chamblee High School the week before. Blessed Trinity (3-2) will try to get back in the win column when they go to Fulton County’s Riverwood High School this Friday.

In Fairburn, Our Lady of Mercy High School sophomore Jarrell Bankhead returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and sophomore quarterback William Pearl threw for two touchdowns, but it was not enough in its 45-26 home loss to Glascock County High School. Freshman tailback Christian Willis led Mercy in rushing with 102 yards on 12 carries. Mercy (1-4) will take on regional adversary Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy this Friday.

Holy Spirit Preparatory School in Atlanta pushed their record to 2-2 with a 12-7 victory over Westminster Christian School. They will try to get above .500 when they play Monroe Academy this Friday.

Marist School and St. Pius X High School were both out of action last week, but they return to the field this Friday. Marist (4-1) will play its homecoming game against Stone Mountain High School. St. Pius X (5-0) will host Cedar Grove High School.
