Published January 26, 2006

Archdiocesan Catholics are invited to support Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and the priests of the Archdiocese of Atlanta by attending the annual “Shepherd’s Night” dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at St. Brigid Church.

Sponsored by the Serra Clubs of Atlanta, the event will honor the work and ministry of the archdiocesan and religious order priests in the archdiocese. The dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. after a social hour beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets to Shepherd’s Night, which is black tie optional, can be purchased for $50 a person. Those who cannot attend have the option of sponsoring a priest for $50 or an entire table of eight for $400.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta has four Serra Clubs in the metropolitan area, including the Metro Club, the North Metro Club, the Northeast Metro Club and the Serra Club of Northwest Atlanta. Originally started in 1935 in Seattle, the international organization remains “dedicated to spiritual growth, continuing Catholic adult education, warm fellowship, and the encouragement of Church vocations.” Today, more than 700 Serra Clubs in 36 countries have been established with a total membership of more than 19,000 men, women and permanent deacons.
