• Audits of 191 dioceses/eparchies were completed. Three re-audits were conducted.

• Three dioceses/eparchies were not audited at this time due to scheduling or legal complications.

• An eparchy that was created in mid-2002 was not included in the present audit.

• All audited dioceses/eparchies were found to be compliant with some or all of the articles of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.

• 34 of the audited diocese/eparchies (18 percent) had unaddressed instructions and/or recommendations at the conclusion of the audit.

• 131 instructions were issued to 57 of the audited dioceses/eparchies (30 percent).

• 81 instructions (62 percent) were addressed by the conclusion of the audit.

• 297 recommendations were issued to 125 of the audited dioceses/eparchies (65 percent).

• 258 recommendations (87 percent) were addressed by the conclusion of the audit.

• 129 of the audited dioceses/eparchies (68 percent) received from one to six commendations.

• More than 180 commendations were issued.
