Mary Our Queen’s new murals: Under the saint’s prayerful gaze

Two larger-than-life murals featuring the Blessed Virgin Mary now beautify the sanctuary of Mary Our Queen Church following a July installation. Bishop Konzen will bless the new sacred art murals on Aug. 23.

  First responders brought a St. Joseph Church parishioner Jeanne Menna back to life after a lightning strike in May. She returned to the scene of the strike weeks later to thank them and the Catholic community for prayers and support.

  After the pandemic, organizations aiding the homeless struggled with resources and funding and began to shut down, leaving a void in the Buckhead area. Nearby churches, including the Cathedral of Christ the King, recognized a growing need for support, and formed a relationship with Intown Cares.

  St. Lawrence Church is marking the country’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with prayer, music and cultural celebrations.
