CUMMING—Pinecrest Academy welcomed Bishop Joel M. Konzen, SM, to campus on April 29. As the main celebrant of an all school Mass, which would be the final one for the Class of 2022, Bishop Konzen joined high school students for their annual May crowning ceremony.

Senior Maria Birozes led a reflection on this tradition, sharing her personal experience of Our Lady. Afterward, senior Michael Kutter led a decade of the rosary, followed by the crowning of Our Lady by Maria Birozes, as senior Kate O’Rourke sang “Gentle Woman.”

All the students laid flowers before Mary, as sophomores Paula Santa Maria, Gracie Fazzalaro and Gracyn Washburn sang, with Brady Lyne on guitar.

At the close of the crowning, Bishop Konzen briefly addressed the students, after which senior Nick Bohn presented him with a spiritual bouquet of 210 decades of the rosary offered for him and his intentions.
