Marist School claims 14th state baseball championship

LAWRENCEVILLE—Marist School bested Savannah’s Benedictine Military School on May 20 to win the Class AAAA State Championship in baseball.

The War Eagles captured the championship in a two-game series at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Marist won the first game, 5-0, and the second game, 2-1 with a walk-off hit from senior Grey Taylor.

It was the 14th state title for Marist School, with the most recent in 2017. Mike Strickland is the team’s head coach.
