Graduates of St. Pius X High School celebrate their special day May 15 by tossing their caps. Area Catholic schools held commencement ceremonies in May and announced their valedictorians and salutatorians.

The Class of 2021: Top scholars honored at Catholic high schools

ATLANTAValedictorians and salutatorians from Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Atlanta were honored for their academic achievements.

This year’s valedictorian for Blessed Trinity High School is Ronald Miller, son of Kurt and Cindy Miller. The family attends St. Peter Chanel Church in Roswell. Miller plans to enter the United States Naval Academy.

William Dyches is this year’s salutatorian. He is the son of Bill and Melissa Dyches. The family worships at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Alpharetta. He will attend Georgia Tech. 

Blessed Trinity High School held graduation on Saturday, May 15. 

Eric Mai is the valedictorian for Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. He is the son of Khanh Tran and Huan Mai. He plans to study computer science at Yale University and hopes to become a software developer.

The salutatorian is Ashley Marin Colin, daughter of Maria Martha Colin and Sergio Marin. The family worships at San Felipe de Jesus Mission in Forest Park. She will attend Johns Hopkins University, where she will study chemistry. Colin plans to be a general surgeon.

Cristo Rey will hold graduation on Saturday, May 29.

The valedictorian for Holy Spirit Preparatory School is Ainsley Hillman. Her parents are Amy and Daniel Hillman. The family attends Holy Spirit Church in Atlanta. Hillman will attend the University of Notre Dame and plans to pursue a double major in political science and chemistry. 

Sofia Oliver is this year’s salutatorian. She is the daughter of Alanna and Javier Oliver. The family also worships at Holy Spirit Church. She will attend Georgia Tech to study history, technology and society. 

Holy Spirit Prep will hold graduation on Friday, May 28.

Clare Seymour is this year’s valedictorian for Marist School. She is the daughter of Liz and Tim Seymour. The family worships at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta. Seymour plans to attend the University of Notre Dame, where she plans to major in civil engineering and Spanish.

Courtney Maley, daughter of Tom and Carla Maley, is the salutatorian. She will attend Georgia Tech in the fall where she plans to major in environmental engineering. The family worships at St. Ann Church in Marietta. 

Marist School in Atlanta held graduation on Saturday, May 22.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School’s valedictorian is Hayden Forche’, and the salutatorian is Adelyn Forche’. They are fraternal twins. Their parents are Dr. Jon Forche’ and Dr. Nadine Humen Forche’. The family worships at St. Joseph Church in Athens. Hayden will attend the University of Georgia in the fall and Adelyn will enroll in Florida State University.

Monsignor Donovan held graduation on Saturday, May 22.

The valedictorian for Notre Dame Academy is Sonia Thakur. She is the daughter of Yongli Yu and Prasad Thakur. The family attends the Yugal Kunj Radha Krishna Temple in Duluth. She plans to attend Georgia Tech in the fall.

Isabella Marquez is this year’s salutatorian. The daughter of Patti and Santiago Marquez, she plans to attend Belmont University in the fall. The family worships at St. Oliver Plunkett Church in Snellville. 

Notre Dame Academy will hold graduation on Friday, May 28.

Nicolas Londono is the valedictorian for Our Lady of Mercy High School. He is the son of Paola and Jorge Londono. The family attends Holy Trinity Church in Peachtree City. Londono plans to major in mechanical engineering at Northwestern University. 

The salutatorian is Christopher Schwartz. The son of Tanya and Bradley Schwartz, he plans to attend Bard College to study physics and philosophy. The family worships at St. Philip Benizi Church in Jonesboro.

Our Lady of Mercy High School celebrated graduation on Saturday, May 15. 

Pinecrest Academy held commencement on Saturday, May 22. The school honors five scholars. 

This year’s valedictorians are Sofia Alvarez Del Pino and Alex Lappin. Del Pino is the daughter of Lisa and Felipe Alvarez Del Pino. She plans to attend Georgia Tech, where she will major in biomedical engineering. Lappin is the son of Joseph M. Lappin and Olga Wiley. He will attend George Mason University in the fall where he will study cyber security engineering. Both families worship at St. Brendan the Navigator Church in Cumming. 

The salutatorians are Eliza DiMarco, Sophia DiMarco and Johnny Rezabek. The parents of Eliza and Sophia are Anne and John DiMarco. The family worships at St. Brigid Church in Johns Creek. Rezabek is the son of Janine and John Rezabek. The family worships at St. Brendan the Navigator Church. All three salutatorians plan to attend Georgia Tech. 

St. Pius X High School in Atlanta celebrated graduation on Saturday, May 15. 

This year’s valedictorian is Sarah Halbig. She is the daughter of Debra and Dwayne Halbig. The family worships at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Lilburn. She plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall. 

Sophia Ripoll is the salutatorian. She is the daughter of Lisa and John Ripoll. The family worships at All Saints Church in Dunwoody. She plans to enroll at Vanderbilt University this fall.
