Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenical Gathering set

ATLANTA—The Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenical Gathering will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta. A reception will follow in Kenny Hall.

Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and His Eminence Alexios, Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Atlanta, will officiate. The keynote speaker will be Phillip M. Thompson, Ph.D. He serves on the Archdiocesan Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Affairs and teaches religion at Agnes Scott College. Thompson served as executive director of the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University for the past 10 years.

The theme of the gathering is “Keeping Hope Alive: The Christian Journey of Peace.”

Priests and deacons are invited to vest and process.
