Youth in Mission scholarships available

Piper Martin serves on a building team in Guatemala with help from a scholarship award from Youth in Mission. The local nonprofit is accepting applications for mission trip scholarships until Nov. 15.

ATLANTA—Do you or anyone you know plan to travel on a mission trip in 2018? Youth in Mission helps eligible middle school, high school and college students who want to serve on mission trips, but lack the funds to get there.

Last year, Youth in Mission awarded 35 scholarships to local youth for their 2017 mission trips. With tremendous community support, Youth in Mission plans to present even more mission trip scholarships this year.

Scholarships will be distributed on Dec. 16 at St. Joseph Church in Marietta with Archbishop Gregory in attendance to bless the young missionaries and their individual missions.

Youth in Mission is a six-year-old nonprofit organization. Local businesses, donors, and grant programs, including the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia, fund Youth in Mission. Board members include presidents and owners of Cobb County corporations. Donations help support archdiocesan youth in mission fields.

The deadline for scholarship applications is Nov. 15.
