Province meeting draws bishops to Savannah

SAVANNAH—Eight bishops from the Atlanta Province gathered in the Diocese of Savannah recently to discuss common topics and enjoy time together.

The Savannah gathering took place in late June at the Catholic Pastoral Center, which included time of prayer together.

Savannah Bishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., hosted the gathering. He spoke at the conclusion of Mass at St. Mary Chapel at the Savannah pastoral center.

The Province of Atlanta includes Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The bishops attending the event were Atlanta Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and auxiliary bishops, Bishop Luis R. Zarama and Bishop David P. Talley; Bishop Hartmayer; Bishop J. Kevin Boland, bishop-emeritus of Savannah; Bishop Peter J. Jugis, of the Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina; Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, of the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone, of the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina.
