Published May 26, 2016

SMYRNA—The Georgia Bulletin, newspaper of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, is sponsoring a pilgrimage next year, with an emphasis on the Marian sites of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, Our Lady of Lourdes in France and the Pilar Basilica, the number one Marian shrine in Spain. We invite you to join us on this spiritual, visually spectacular and historically interesting journey.

Next May marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima, and the pilgrimage will offer an opportunity to celebrate with devotion the Blessed Mother.

Pilgrims will also have a chance to walk five to 10 miles of the famed “Way of St. James,” the Santiago de Compostela, where the saint preached for seven years and was responsible for the conversion of Spain.

The 11-day pilgrimage is set for April 18-28, 2017, for a cost of $3,799 per person from Atlanta. Those who sign up before June 27 will receive a $100 early booking bonus.

The spiritual director for the trip is Father Tim Hepburn, who is the engaging and warmly devout vocations director for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Ordained in 1993, he has served as parochial vicar, pastor, assistant vocations director and chaplain at the high school and university levels. Nationally and internationally, Father Tim has been active in teen and young adult ministries, priestly formation, conference speaking, preaching and teaching.

Tom Aisthorpe, advertising manager for The Georgia Bulletin, is the trip coordinator and can be reached at taisthorpe@georgiabulletin.org.

The tour company is Unitours, a firm from New York with decades of travel experience.
