Published May 26, 2016

ATLANTA—An all-night vigil will offer a night of prayer and reparation to bring peace to the Church and the world. All are welcome to attend.

The vigil, sponsored by the Alliance of the Two Hearts—Georgia chapter, will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King on the evening of Friday, June 3, until the early morning of Saturday, June 4, on the occasion of the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The cathedral is located at 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta.

The vigil begins at 8 p.m. with praying of the joyful and sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. Confession will be available at this time.

At 9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated in the traditional Latin rite, in honor of the Sacred Heart. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will follow, and prayer of the nine offices of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as revealed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

At 11:30 p.m. there will be a procession of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction. Mass in the Latin rite will be celebrated at 12 a.m., in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet and the luminous and glorious mysteries of the rosary will conclude the vigil.

Oblate Apostles of the Two Hearts Father Jose Viola will be the celebrant of the Masses.

The solemnity of the Sacred Heart and the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will coincide with the First Friday and First Saturday of June this year, when the vigil is traditionally held.

To maintain the continuity of prayer throughout the night, refreshments will not be served.

Currently, seven First Friday and First Saturday vigils take place each month in the Atlanta Archdiocese to help bring peace to hearts, family, the country, and between nations.
