ATLANTA—The girls soccer team at Holy Spirit Preparatory School shut out Griffin Christian High School 4-0 in an April 18 match on their home field.

Midfielder Morgan Delaney scored the first two goals. Stephanie Perez and Jordan Daly scored the other two goals. For senior defender Perez it was the first goal of her Holy Spirit soccer career, and for sophomore defender Daly it was her first goal of the season.

The following day Holy Spirit shut out Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School 6-0 in the two schools’ second meeting. After a 5-0 victory over Dawson’s Terrell Academy in round one of the state tournament April 22, Holy Spirit (16-2) takes on Augusta Preparatory Day School (12-1) in the next round.

As they take on the Georgia Independent School Association defending state soccer champions, Holy Spirit will need the contributions of junior forward Allie Bertany, the team’s leading scorer (30 goals) for the season and the team’s assist leader (15 assists) senior midfielder Catherine Dale.
