NORCROSS—The Catholic bookstore Mary’s Garden is under new ownership.

And the new owner will be familiar to customers. Talin Major has worked there for years.

Cherie Peters, the store’s founder, sold the Norcross bookstore after 15 years. She moved to Savannah.

“It was liking giving my baby away. The store has meant so much to me. I’ve met so many wonderful people at the store,” she said.

Major said she was inspired to buy the store, one of the few remaining Catholic bookstores in the Atlanta area.

“I just like having the store open as a ministry,” she said. “I like the customers, I love helping them. We give personal attention and service. We are here to continue the good customer service.”

She said folks are purchasing graduation gifts now. Two popular gift items are saints’ medals, particularly St. Christopher, and sterling silver crucifixes, she said.

The store is located at 7706 Spalding Drive in Norcross. The phone number is 770-849-0333.
