Eagle Scout documents Ellijay cemetery records

Published May 29, 2014

Sean Davis received Scouting’s highest award, the Eagle Scout, at a Court of Honor held May 1 at Good Samaritan Church, in Ellijay. Sean is the son of Nick and Mychelle Davis of Ellijay.
Sean is a member of Troop 402 in Ellijay. He is also a member of Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow.

To earn the award, he developed, planned and led a project at Ellijay City Cemetery, collecting information on all those buried there so that it could be used efficiently to help locate gravesites. His project also included entering all of the information into the computer system at Ellijay City Hall. To become an Eagle Scout, it’s also necessary to earn 21 merit badges and serve in leadership roles in the troop.
