Published February 20, 2014

A Marist School grad, Elena Ricardo, just got one of the leads in “Mamma Mia” on Broadway.

Ricardo, a member of the class of 2009, is moving from an ensemble role to play bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan.

The musical has had a run of 13 years on Broadway. It’s the 10th longest running show in Broadway history and one of only five musicals to have a run for more than 10 years there.

It’s the tale of family and friendship on a Greek island as a bride on the eve of her wedding, seeks to meet her father. Songs include “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me.”
