St. Brendan serves 280 families in need

Published January 9, 2014

St. Brendan the Navigator’s Christmas Market was huge for 280 families who attended. Approximately 100 volunteers from the parish served the families for three hours.

The doors to the parish social hall in Cumming were opened as the ministry served 494 children, 586 adults and 71 seniors. They registered 20 new families, gave out 160 stockings, countless children’s toys and games and 280 wrapped household gifts. The families went home with their grocery bags stuffed with staples, fresh fruits, vegetables, and perishables like butter, sour cream, whipped topping, meat, bread and dessert for their Christmas meal. Each household received a wrapped gift. The Boy Scouts provided warm coats and jackets.
