Pinecrest boys’ video goes viral

Published November 8, 2013

Congrats to the dozen Pinecrest Academy High School boys who performed in a music video to the tune of “What Makes You Beautiful,” by boy band One Direction.

More than 13,600 people have viewed the video that encourages young women on the Pinecrest campus that virtue is beautiful. On the school’s Facebook page, it’s been shared 238 times.

The video was unveiled during the homecoming pep rally on Friday, October 25.

Featured in the video are students Aaron Bass, Christopher Birozes, Addison Ehle, Sean Flanigan, Jack Frain, JP McCabe, Ryan McCarthy, Jack Meersman, Greg Metz, Evan Montalbano, Jose Ruiz and Andrew Wilborn, along with Coach Ryan Weingart.

Pinecrest mothers Laurie Flanigan and Kim Bass thought a local production would be great, after seeing a group of young men in Utah perform the song.

With the help of Pinecrest father, Dennis Ehle, who launched the Pinecrest sports website, www.paspn.org, and creates weekly “pump up” football videos, and choreographer and Pinecrest mother Kim Bass, the students produced the video in two days.
