Local musician selected for Army band

Brendan Dukes, a senior mellophone player and the band captain for the Habersham Central High School Band of Blue, has been selected to be a member of the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.

He and other band members are to perform at halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Ryan and Nora Dukes and is a parishioner at St. Mark Church, Clarkesville.

The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band recognizes the top 125 high school senior marching musicians and color guard members nationally, spotlighting their talents during a prominent high school football game in America, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, televised live on NBC on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014.
