Scout helps the disabled at Woodstock parish

Published July 4, 2013

Brennan Kellner, of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Woodstock, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He organized a crew to replace the wheelchair ramp at the old rectory at the parish. It is used for the food bank and various meetings when the church and parish hall are booked. The old ramp used untreated wood, making it weathered and unsafe.

Some 380 volunteer hours were used to build the ramp, along with $2,000 worth of donations. The parish contributed about half the amount.
