Deacon Charles ‘Chuck’ Patrick Dies

DOUGLASVILLE—Deacon Charles Patrick, 74, died Dec. 28, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. Born Aug. 5, 1938, in Hammond, Ind., he was the son of the late Marvin and Alice Borem Patrick. He was married to his wife Margaret for 45 years. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a corporate lender in his civilian life.

On June 10, 2000, he was ordained as a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Gary, Ind., and served there until 2005. After relocating to Douglasville, he served at St. Theresa Church.

Deacon Chuck was preceded in death by his son, Sean, and his sisters, Geraldine Hedrick and Carol Knieriemen. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and sons-in-law: Colleen and Rodney Adams of Douglasville; Cristin and Clay Hendrickson of Iowa; and Claire and Ryan Barker of Prattville, Ala.; sister, Norma Jevyak of Hammond, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
