Our Lady Of Guadalupe To Be Honored At Parishes

Following is a list of celebrations scheduled at parishes around the archdiocese to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose feast day is Dec. 12. For churches not listed, contact the parish office for more information.

Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta

Monday, Dec. 10 – Chattahoochee Central Mobile Village. 6:45 p.m. Rosary in lot 74; 7 p.m. Procession; 8 p.m. Mass in lot 7, music by mariachis; 9 p.m. Community gathering.

Tuesday, Dec. 11 – Lindburgh Mission. 7 p.m. Rosary and procession starting at 2517 Morosgo Place, Apt. D, Atlanta; 7:30 p.m. Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, music by mariachis, representation of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe, piropos and folkloric dances, community gathering; 12 a.m. Mañanitas.

Tuesday, Dec. 11 – Cathedral of Christ the King. 9 p.m. Bilingual rosary, special intention for unborn children; 9:30 p.m. Compliments and endearing expressions to Our Lady Of Guadalupe; 10 p.m. Marian serenade; 11 p.m. Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, music by mariachis, mañanitas;

12:30 a.m. Farewell; hot chocolate and sweet Mexican style bread will be served.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, Lindbergh Mission. 6 p.m. Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Cathedral of Christ the King. 7:30 p.m. Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, spiritual bouquet: quinceañeras, music by the Cathedral’s music ministry, mañanitas; 8:30 p.m. Procession to Kenny Hall; 9 p.m. Reception in Kenny Hall.

Centro Catolico del Espíritu Santo (Mission of Holy Spirit Church), Sandy Springs

All activities will be in Spanish.

St. Helena Mission, Clayton

In preparation for the Dec. 12 celebration, the Guadalupan rosary will be prayed in the homes of parishioners for nine days (novena).

Tuesday, Dec. 11 – 8-11:30 p.m. Mañanitas to Our Lady of Guadalupe, prayer, vigil and honors to Our Lady.

Wednesday, Dec. 13 – 6:30 p.m. Procession and Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Rosary; 7:30 p.m. Mass, celebration and community gathering after Mass.

Wednesday, Dec. 12 – 12 a.m. Serenade in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe; 6:45 p.m. Solemn procession with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, accompanied by the dancers (please bring luminary candles); 7:30 p.m. Mass in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, presentation and consecration of the children to the Virgin Mary, community gathering in the parish hall.
