Golden Lions Could Not Be Tamed Or Contained

ATLANTA—In their first home game of the 2012 football season the St. Pius X Golden Lions defeated the North Oconee High School Titans 50-14. St. Pius scored 36 points in the first half.

The Pius defense held North Oconee scoreless until late in the third quarter. Defensive back Michael Sikorski had two interceptions on the night. He returned one 72 yards for a touchdown to end the first half of the game. Linebacker Dalton Wilson and strong safety Harrison Woodward led the team in tackles with four apiece.

On offense, Pius fullback Ryan Braswell led the team in rushing with 12 carries for 83 yards and three touchdowns. Running backs Nick Ruffin and Jack Spear finished with 65 and 60 yards, respectively.

St. Pius (2-0) travels east to take on Thomson High School (2-0), Friday, Sept. 14.
