Notre Dame Glee Club To Perform March 16

Published March 3, 2011

Our Lady of the Assumption Church will host the Notre Dame University Glee Club for a special concert on Wednesday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Atlanta church.

Four Georgia Catholics will be singing with the group during their spring tour of the Southeast, including Trigg Ferrano of Holy Family Church, Marietta, Brian and Tim Scully of St. Michael Church, Gainesville, and Austin Atherton of Prince of Peace Church, Flowery Branch.

The tour’s program will feature sacred, secular and contemporary music, including Franz Biebl’s “Ave Maria,” a signature piece of the glee club.  Led by conductor Daniel Stowe, who is in his 18th year, the group will also perform folk songs, barbershop tunes and African-American spirituals. As always, the glee club will conclude its concert with the Alma Mater of the University of Notre Dame, as well as the “The Notre Dame Victory March.”

A free-will donation will be accepted. All proceeds support the Notre Dame Glee Club.
