Father Martin Kopchik, MSFS, Dies

Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales Father Martin Kopchik, director of the Fransalians Spirituality Center, died Nov. 6. He was 61.

The funeral vigil for Father Kopchik is to be on Thursday, Nov. 11, from 6-9 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 319 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville. Evening prayer and a rosary will be prayed for the repose of his soul at 6:30 p.m.

Visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will be held before the funeral Mass on Friday, Nov. 12, at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 7171 Glenridge Drive, NE, Atlanta. Bishop Luis R. Zarama will preside at the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Father Augustine Tharappel, regional superior of the U.S. region of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, will be the homilist.

The rite of committal will occur at Arlington Cemetery, Sandy Springs, immediately following the Mass. After the burial, a reception will be held at St. Jude’s.
