This is Blessed Trinity’s second state volleyball title after achieving its first in a 3-2 defeat of The Westminster School in 2006.

St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, finished its volleyball season with a record of 32-18. St. Pius won its third consecutive area title in a three-game sweep of Riverwood High School, Sandy Springs, in the championship match. Libero Ella Anastasiades, outside hitter Emily Morrison, setter Grace McGoldrick and middle blocker Chelsea Onuorah were selected to the all-area team. Morrison was also named to the 2010 Class AAA All State Team. St. Pius lost in the second round of the state tournament to state runner-up Sandy Creek High School, Tyrone, and secured a ranking of fifth in the state coaches’ poll.
