First Charismatic Renewal Conference Set For Aug. 27-28

St. Lawrence Church will host “A Call To Unity: Father Make Us One,” Atlanta’s first renewal conference on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28.

The two-day event will feature speakers, including Msgr. Joseph Malagreca of Brooklyn, N.Y., praise and worship sessions and Eucharistic adoration.

The conference begins at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary on Friday with praise and worship music and a welcome from Father Guyma Noel, pastor of Christ Our Hope Church in Lithonia and the episcopal liaison for the Atlanta Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Mass will be celebrated at 7:45 p.m. by Auxiliary Bishop Luis R. Zarama.

On Saturday, events will take place in the gymnasium at the parish, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with praise and worship. A talk is scheduled for 9 a.m. on “One God and Father of Us All.” Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Msgr. Malagreca, followed by another talk on “We, Though Many, Are One Body in Christ.”

Following lunch at noon, the teen and young adult session begins at 12:30 p.m. The chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed at 3 p.m.

After the last talk on “Love, the Perfect Bond of Unity” at 4 p.m., the day ends with a concluding holy hour beginning at 5:30 p.m.
