Father Thomas J. Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, will speak at St. Patrick Church the weekend of July 10-11 for all those who are interested in attending.

HLI, founded in 1981, is the world’s largest pro-life organization with affiliate offices and associates in 87 countries. Father Euteneuer, president since 2001, has traveled more than 1.1 million miles as a pro-life missionary and has visited 58 countries.

Born in Detroit in 1962, the fourth of seven children, he has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and a licentiate degree in biblical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He is fluent in Spanish.

Father Euteneuer’s pro-life activity began soon after his ordination in 1988 with prayer vigils, pilgrimages, pickets at abortion centers, sidewalk counseling and the establishment of a crisis pregnancy center across the street from an abortion mill in 1999. Before working at HLI, he served as a parish priest in five parishes of the Diocese of Palm Beach, Fla., secretary to the diocesan bishop, director of vocations, and spiritual moderator for the diocesan Respect Life Office.

Since taking office at HLI, Father Euteneuer has spoken directly to tens of thousands of people all over the world spreading the Gospel of Life as well as making many appearances on EWTN and other media. He was awarded the John Cardinal O’ Connor Award for Life from Legatus in 2005 and the “Soldier of the Church Militant” Award from the Brent Society in 2007.

Father Euteneuer will speak at all English and Spanish Masses at St. Patrick’s on July 10 and 11 (please see for Mass schedule) and will also speak after the Saturday 6:30 p.m. Mass in the parish hall. Refreshments will be served and a love offering is appreciated. On Monday, July 12, Father Euteneuer will join a group in prayer at 10:30 a.m. at the Northside Women’s Clinic, 3543 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Atlanta. All are invited.
