OLA To Join Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service

Our Lady of the Assumption Church will join with the nearby churches of the Brookhaven Christian Ministries to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord with a traditional sunrise service on Easter Sunday, April 4. This celebration will at place at 7 a.m. on the lawn of the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, located behind Oglethorpe University, at 3016 Lanier Drive.  This annual service will include song, Scripture, prayer and more. All are invited to attend.

Rev. Sarah Webb Phillips, pastor of Brookhaven United Methodist Church, will be the featured speaker at this interdenominational service. Other member churches of the Brookhaven Christian Ministries include: Brookhaven Christian Church, Cross & Crown Lutheran Church, St. James United Methodist Church and St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church.

A voluntary offering will benefit the Interfaith Outreach Home (IOH), a transitional home for two-parent homeless families with children. Since opening its doors in 1992, IOH has provided housing and support for over 400 homeless persons in their quest to regain their independence.

Immediately following the sunrise service, there will be a small reception.
