Marist Girls Pound Pace Academy In Lacrosse

The Marist School girls established a two-game winning streak and produced their highest goal output of the season on their home field with a 20-2 victory over Pace Academy, April. 7.

Marist School senior Sascha Brown (#4) scored three of her four first-half goals in the first two minutes of the game as she helped lead her team to a 20-2 victory over Pace Academy, April 7.

Marist senior Sascha Brown scored the team’s first goal 28 seconds into the game. Fellow senior Audrey Kaelin scored the next goal 17 seconds later to set off a 6-0 run before Pace midfielder Charmaine Mech provided her team’s first goal just over six minutes into the match. Pace sophomore midfielder Jessica DiOrio scored the team’s second goal. Eight different Marist players scored in the first half, and the team held a 16-2 lead at the halftime break.

The Marist defensive vice got even tighter in the second half as they held Pace scoreless. Kaelin and Brown led all scorers with five and fours goals, respectively. With five players out of the Marist lineup, Kaelin said, “I felt like I had to step up. We also had some new offensive players on the field today that I had to help pull together.”

Marist (5-3) travels to North Fulton County to take on Alpharetta High School (4-3) Saturday, April 17.
